Fujian Provincial Museum is Chinese province-level comprehensive museum and it is located in west-lake park of Fuzhou city, where is the provincial capital of Fujian Province. In 1954, it was established on the basis of previous Science Museum of Fujian Province, and in 1950s, it was renamed Fujian People’s Science Museum. After the establishment of Fujian Provincial Museum, Fujian People’s Science Museum was dismantled and its collections were all moved to the new museum. Gradually, this new museum became the largest comprehensive museum of Fujian Provincial Museum. This museum in total has more than 50, 000 articles. The first-rank collections are more than 360. The main part of the collections is featured by the rare works of arts, unearthed cultural and historic relics as well as the materials used in revolutionary period.

The attractive articles are the gilded copper lion-shaped furnace used before Song Dynasty. The silk-made gowns or garments discovered in Mausoleum of Huang Sheng in South Song Dynasty. The Iron-Made Arm of Li Gang who was the famous general of Song Dynasty to fight against the invasion from Jin Dynasty. The Kwan-yin Statue created by the craft workers who was a famous porcelain maker, A lot of painting and calligraphy scrolls created Huang Daozhou, Dong Qichang, Shen Zhou, Wu Bing and Huang Shen, and also the handwritings of Lin Zexu and Yan Fu are all the valued collections of this museum.

Fujian Provincial Museum also has three ordinary themed exhibitions: Display of Ancient Historic Relics Discovered in Fujian Province, Display of Revolution History in Fujian Province as well as Display of Fujiang Nature. The opening time of Fujian Provincial Musuem is from 9:00 am to 16: 00 pm. The ticket is free of charge. On Monday, the whole museum is closed for rearrangement
