Guangdong Provincial Museum is a local museum themed with local cultural and historical relics and antiques

Guangdong provincial museum is a province-level comprehensive museum in China. It is located on the old site of Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou. Guangdong provincial museum was built in 1957 and opened in 1959 with the total area of 29,000 square meters. Guangdong provincial museum is comprised of three parts: Exhibition Hall, Old Site of First Session Meeting of Kuomintang and Lu Xun Museum. Mr. Guo Moruo wrote the name for it. This museum is mainly featured by the local cultural and historical museums. In total, there are 124,000 collections. The articles consist of porcelains, calligraphy and paintings, ink-stones, god-wood carvings, ancient coins and many other unearthed relics. The number of first-level collections is more than 300. It has an only treasured article named Inked Painting Themed with Dragon or Long by Chen Rong of Song Dynasty, and The Monkey-King Ink-stone of Qing Dynasty as well as White Ceramic Sakyamuni Statue    

Currently, the Exhibition Hall of Guangdong Provincial Museum was established in 1992, and it is a newly-established building with modernized facilities. The four sides of the hall building are white embossments themed with Sun Yat-sen Statue and Burning down Opium in Humen of Qing Dynasty and so on. The new hall has more than 13 displays, 2 entering rooms and an academic report room. Bell Tower originally one section of Canton Examination Center of Qing Dynasty was renamed Sun Yat-sen University in 1926. Bell Tower together with square boasts the Big Headquarters of Revolution. The first session of national meeting of Kuomintang was held in this Bell Tower.
